I just got back from the doctor’s office and I got the results. I did fail the test. So now I have to wait to hear from a nutritionist (or specialist or whatever) to call me for an appointment to discuss my diet and how we are going to deal with this. If anyone has any advice or tips or ideas on what groceries to get, I would really appreciate it!
I have no useful advice … Just kind thoughts.
Bummer!! … I wish I had some advice, but I’ve never been there. Sorry.
Usually they will tell you to cut the sugary things and take it easy on carbohydrates. Fruits, veggies and protein as well as dairy are good things. I have diabetes even without being pregnant and this is what they told me to eat. However, every doctor is different…sorry you have to deal with this.
I have it too! The nutritionist should give you an amount of carbs that you are allowed to eat at each meal/snack. Basically, protein for breakfast, carbs for lunch and dinner. They will encourage you to exercise (i.e. walking) for at least 30 minutes a day. Good luck! It’s lame!
